Dermatology for Animals is a specialty veterinary practice, so the first step in making an appointment is to discuss your pet's condition with your regular veterinarian. They may suggest seeing a specialist who can best diagnose difficult or persistent dermatological problems. When this is the case, the referring veterinarian will help you set up the appointment and provide your pet's medical record to D4A. An initial appointment lasts approximately one hour and entails a detailed evaluation of the problem and possible contributing factors. If a diagnosis can be clearly made during this visit, a management plan will be developed with you for the care of your pet. Sometimes additional appointments are required for further testing before a management plan can be developed. Because most dermatological conditions require lifelong management, follow-up recheck appointments are normally scheduled 6 weeks after the initial appointment, and then as needed. Recheck appointments last approximately 30 minutes. During this process, your regular veterinarian is kept informed of progress on the case and will often be involved in follow-up care, as needed. When making appointments, please keep in mind that it may take a week or more to schedule a time. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. and, in certain cases, we can arrange for your pet to be dropped off and picked up later. We will call to remind you of the appointment a couple days ahead of time. As a courtesy to others seeking appointments, we require cancellations to be made 2 business days prior to appointments and bill for missed appointments or short cancellations. Our clinic is located in downtown Campbell, with parking and entrance in the rear. There is a dog park adjacent to parking and numerous coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance.
